Global Center of Excellence – Construction is underway for Dow’s new Center of Excellence for Paper and Board Coating. The new facility, located in Samstagern, Switzerland, should be operating by mid-2008. The center will allow for increased capabilities to meet growing customer needs and will be available to support Dow’s customers worldwide. The Center features pilot coating equipment for coating operations, and includes facilities to develop and test coating components, coating formulations and machine running conditions. Customers around the world can conduct real-life production simulations without interrupting commercial production times.

Pilot Coating Facility - Midland, Mich – To support your efforts to develop new coated products while remaining competitive, Dow maintains a custom-built Pilot Coater in Midland, Michigan. Our Pilot Coater is designed specifically to address the product development requirements of the paper and board industries. Through the Pilot Coater program, our team of specialists will work closely with you to obtain a full understanding of your goals and objectives. Together, we'll find the product, formulation, and process conditions that best meet your needs. The keys to success are cooperation and planning.
